Welcome! Here you will find thoughts on the power of story–in our own lives and especially in the lives of children. Stories enrich. They inspire. They provide a new lexicon, giving us language we can use to talk about reality. They help us make sense out of our own stories.
Reading a story is a deeply personal experience, whether the words take shape in the silence of your own head or are shared out loud with a young listener. And yet, stories cannot exist without community. Someone made that story, illustrated it, passed it on, shared it. What a beautiful combining of the personal and the communal!
Check back to meet some of my favorite authors and artists who have shaped me and the stories I love.
In the meantime, go read a story!
